WE HAD a Detention Hall on the old
site that had listed a handful of people who wouldn't
Get With the Program and put their contact info
on the site.
Well, we were thinking about it, and, really,
the old site showed a member's email address right
on the site. Spammers could have sent their robot
programs to gather email addresses and build a
list to send their junk emails to.
SO -- this NEW site stores everybody's
info in a database that can't be gotten to by
the spammers. Only legitimate Springer Connection
Members can send emails to other Members, and,
even when you send an email to a member, YOU CAN'T
SEE THE OTHER MEMBER'S EMAIL ADDRESS. The OTHER
Member will see YOUR email address when they get
your email. Then they can email you back if they
wish, or just ignore you. This protects us all
from unwanted email and the Boyfriend From The
Old Days that may be stalking you.
We think this may have been the
reason the previous invitees wouldn't sign up.
If so, their sentences in the Detention Hall are
commuted to time served.
