SpringerConnection.com Privacy Policy

At SpringerConnection.com, we are very concerned with the issue of privacy on the Internet. It is not our intention to use any information gathered here for personal profit. We are your schoolmates, and are doing this for the benefit of the group.

What information do we collect?
To help us compile statistics regarding the number of online guests who visit our site, SpringerConnection.com collects and stores only the following information: the date and time our site was accessed, which areas of the site were accessed, the address of any site a visitor linked from (so we can know how you found the site), and the name of the domain that was used to access the Internet (i.e. aol.com, etc.) With this information, we are better able to ensure the continued usefulness of our site to you and other members.

We also collect the information you provide to us when signing up as a Member. This information includes your name, and e-mail address, along with any other member account information you provide. None of this information is displayed on the web site without your express permission. Email addresses of the members will not be displayed. Members may send email messages to other Members using the special programming buit into the Springer Connection Message Board, but the Sender will not be able to see the email address of the Member to whom they are mailing, preserving privacy for all.

SpringerConnection.com uses special coding to hide the email addresses of members from "robot programs" that search the web. This allows us to offer another measure of privacy for our members.

How do we use the information collected?
SpringerConnection.com is a nonprofit service provided for alumni of Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, VA. SpringerConnection.com does not sell information regarding members to anyone. We will simply use the information you provide to complete any site functions you have requested. We may also periodically send you announcements about new features and services, special announcements, or upcoming events relating to Highland Springs High School alumni. We DO PROVIDE email addresses of Members to the properly authorized Highland Springs High School Reunion Committees, allowing those committees to contact Members with pertinent Reunion Information.

What are "cookies" and how do we use them?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your computer when you visit a web site. This text file gives your computer a unique identification, but does not place malicious code on your computer or allow anyone to trace you as you surf the Internet.

At SpringerConnection.com, we do not use cookies, except in the following case(s):

  1. Cookies are used in the "Springer Polls" to prevent visitors from voting in the same poll more than once, preventing anyone from "stuffing the ballot box";

  2. Cookies are used in the "Message Board" to hold your username and password and viewing options, allowing you to login. Cookies must be turned on in your browser to participate as a user in these forums.

Any changes or updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page.
