Net proceeds of this event are for the benefit of Shriners Hospitals for Children

Saturday, August 15th, 2009, The Acca Shriner’s Patrol and The Springer Connection present the 8th Annual Blast from the Past, a big eastern Henrico party for friends of ole HSHS.

Good News - some tickets have been brought in by members of the committee that did not sell all their tickets.
TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR!
So put on your shoes and come on out to play!

Party with 480 of your closest friends at the BIGGEST Springer party of the year!

The Blast From The Past will feature the best of 60's and 70's Rock and Roll with
(in order of appearance)
LOOSE GRAVEL and THE BARRACUDAS

BONUS: The last 30 minutes of the Blast will complete the party with BOTH BANDS playing together in the All-Star Springer ENCORE JAM SESSION. This Jam format was a big hit the last two years, with all the songs pre-planned from the bands' own songlists, and will be followed again this year.

SCHEDULED TO APPEAR:

LOOSE GRAVEL , featuring Springer musicians Buzzy Lawler and Bill Coon, play authentic Rock of All Ages, Music from the 60's to NOW, serious but dancible.

Bill, Buzzy, Henry and Ray play about 100 shows a year and are familiar to Springers, having played the last five Blasts. You'll hear all the bands you love, but not the obvious songs.

Loose Gravel is:
Bill Coon - (HSHS Class of '72) Guitar and Vocals
Buzzy Lawler - (HSHS Class of '69) Guitar and Vocals
Henry Gerber - Bass and Vocals
Ray Lassiter - Drums and Vocals

Check out their performance schedule, songlists, music jukebox and video player on the Loose Gravel web site >>

The BARRACUDAS
It was 1964 when the Barracudas sprang from Sandston. Mike Parker, Jeff Warburton, Sam Shaw and Donnie Thurston will open the party and make it seem like Teen Night at the Sandston Pool.

The 'Cudas have performed at every Blast party since the very first one, and they show no signs of slowing down.

Be ready to party with the Barracudas open the show at 8:00 PM.

(Check out Mike Parker's DVD Scrapbook of the Barracudas - very cool! >>)
